Taiwan Day 3: Sunrise in Alishan, Alishan Forest Walk, 廬山HotSpring

We woke up at 3am this morning as the task for this morning is to catch the 30min train from Alishan station to Zhushan (祝山) station to see the morning Sunrise!!  We saw the posters and pictures of the sunrise at the train station was already excited about it. We arrived at the station at 4.20am and bought our train tickets. The queue was super long and so you can imagine how famous this attraction is!

The train departed the Alishan station at 4.40am and headed for 祝山. When we arrived, there were about 3 local guides using the loudspeaker and explaining the interesting facts and history of Alishan to us while waiting for the Sunrise. Papa and Mummy were  very excited about watching the Sunrise but actually I wasn’t too interested in it as it was freezing cold and wet due to the midst..

After watching the Sunrise, we had to quickly catch the train bound for Alishan as we were told that if we missed the train, it will be 2hrs long of walking by foot to reach back to Alishan. Being kiasu Singaporeans, we were very quick in getting back to the train so as not to miss it. Haha! We got back to Alishan station at about 6.35am and the sky had already brighten up to make me mistakenly thought that it was like 9-10am in Singapore. As we had arranged for breakfast with Xiaoqiang 叔叔(our tour guide) at 8.30am, there was like 2hrs of free and easy! I’m already starting to feel hungry.. We decided to get back to our hotel to pack up our stuffs and some lazing around since we have ample time.

After breakfast, we went back to Alishan station but this time round with Xiaoqiang 叔叔. He is going to bring us for a walk in the forest.  We needed to take a train first to one of the station before starting our forest touring. I enjoyed this walk the most as Xiaoqiang 叔叔 was always ready to carry me whenever I feel tired.. haha!!

Almost at the end of the walk, it started to pour heavily.. Luckily we had raincoats with us..

After the walk, we went to a local restaurant for our lunch and headed towards another mountain called – Lushan. We will be spending a night in lushan where we can get to enjoy the hotspring!

 Finally reached our hotel in 廬山 at about 7.30pm. We headed for a quick dinner and spent the rest of the night in the hotspring pool relaxing ourselves.
